America in Black and White : Illustrations from the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum Collection

This exhibition was organized by students in the Museum Studies Program of the Department of Graduate Art History at Rutgers-New Brunswick, under the direction of Professor Hildreth York. The works show a cross section of America’s past and focus on many aspects of life in the 19thand early 20thcenturies as seen by artists. Scenes of the zoo, the circus, fashionable society, life and adventure on passenger ships, humorous situations, as wellas scenes of everyday life, capture the spirit of America from a time long ago.Includes the work of E.A.
