Kevin Blythe Sampson is a sculptor, painter, muralist, and airbrush artist who is recognized for tackling difficult issues that concern him and his Newark, NJ neighbors. A retired police officer and composite sketch artist, Sampson is a mentor for local youth and an arts educator. He has been represented by Cavin-Morris Gallery since 1992. In this art-making workshop, Sampson will use as a starting point the project Wanted, in which Sampson collaborated with artist Dread Scott to address the criminalization of youth in America. All skill levels welcome! This program is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Mirror Mirror. Free and open to everyone. Art materials and refreshments provided.
